This year - for the Olympics in Sydney and to make the time diff’s as small as possible between the US and Australia (TV reigns) - the state governments of NSW, ACT, Victoria and Tasmania have decided to bring daylight savings forward by a few months.

Like the y2k problems - this could have huge repercussions for Australian computers. Apparently this has Microsoft in a spin to try and resolve the problems asap.

To solve the issue they have published a support page to explain the problem and a couple of patches to fix it.
