Pay Per View

From an article in The Australian IT this morning about the cost of mobile multimedia services, namely watching TV on your mobile:

“This is an extremely generous offer given that the carrier’s Fair Go policy against excessive downloading is limited to 10MB monthly per mobile for its other Zoo services.

At the maximum data rate of 40Kbps, 10MB works out to about four minutes of television monthly. A half-hour Simpsons episode comes in at 70MB or $23,760, billed at the cheapest consumer rate of 33c a kilobyte.”

Yikes.
