This afternoon, for the second time in about 3 months, a Manly Ferry has smashed into a wharf at Circular Quay.
Narrabeen apparently lost control as it approached Circular Quay and ended up running in Wharf 5, which is located 2 wharves up (about 20m) from where it’s supposed to berth. Yikes. Thankfully only one injured, from what it sounds, the deckhands onboard knew they were out of control about 30s before it hit the wharf and the appropriate warning was given to all passengers prior to impact.
I’ll have to check out the damage on my way home. I guess this means the Manly Ferry services are going to be screwed for a while. Fun indeed.
