London

My thoughts go out to all those directly affected by the terrible events that took place in London just on 24 hours ago.

As I write this, I can’t help but think about what must be running through the minds of Londoners who would be, right now, contemplating a return to work. Thinking about how they’re going to make it into the City once again and wondering if it’s actually safe to do so.

Terrorism achieves nothing, targeting innocent civilians is plain barbaric. Those who perpetrated these bombings I’m sure will be brought to justice. As Prime Minister Tony Blair put it:

They must not and should not succeed. When they try to intimidate us, we will not be intimidated.

When they seek to change out country or our way of life by these methods we will not be changed.

When they try to divide our people, or weaken our resolve we will not be divided, and our resolve will hold firm.

We will hold by our spirit and dignity and by a quiet and true strength that is in the British people that our values will long outlast theirs.
